We are a group of 15 people who meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month at 2pm.

We began by reflecting on ‘What is Art’?. Then, meeting at someone’s house, a volunteer would prepare a talk on a chosen artist which would be followed by a visit to a gallery to see some of that artist’s work.

We have been to some very interesting places such as Charleston in Sussex - the home of the Bloomsbury set, to Compton to view the Watts Gallery and up to London to see Leighton House.

‘Art Deco’ and ‘Renaissance in the Home’ are exhibitions we have attended, and had a talk on Impressionism and another on Modem and Contemporary Art. Recently we visited thee Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace.

We attended the lectures on Renaissance Art after which nine of us went to Florence for five days to see some of the wonderful works that Leslie had talked about.

Our future programme includes:
The Josephine Malmaison Collection at Somerset House
The Sienna Renaissance Exhibition at the National Gallery
A talk on Millais by Bryan
