How to Join an Interest Group

Identify the groups in which you are interested in from the latest monthly list of "Active & Proposed Groups and Their leaders". This list is published in the Newsletter, as well as our website (see Group page to check availability status and Group Leader) and a copy is with the waiting lists in the side room at monthly meetings.
Members and Associate members wishing to join a group that still has vacancies should apply to the Group Leader.
Members wishing to join a group that is full should put their names down on the waiting list at the monthly meeting.
Associate members wishing to join a group that is full should contact the Group Coordinator and ask to be added to the waiting list.
Group Leaders regularly advise the Group Coordinator of changes in membership of their groups and also of any vacancies for new members. When a group is full the Group Coordinator creates a waiting list for the group. Group Leaders refer to the waiting lists when filling vacancies in their groups.
Waiting lists for full and newly proposed groups are on display in the side room at the monthly meeting and at the Associate members’ coffee mornings.
Once a newly proposed group has enough interested members, the Group Coordinator convenes a meeting to agree on a leader and programme for the group.
Throughout the year the Group Coordinator liaises with the Group Leaders and regularly updates the status of the groups on the "Active & Proposed Groups and Their Leaders” list.

If you would like to propose a new group, please speak to the Group Coordinator.
