Our activities are primarily historic research and the collating of data on Fetcham from a wide variety of sources
thereby building life histories of the past inhabitants. This includes information from the Fetcham Census records from 1841 to 1901 and the original Fetcham Parish Records post 1813 (showing baptisms,
banns, marriages and burials) which were returned to St. Mary’s Church from the Surrey History Centre and digitally photographed by us. We have also photographed the gravestones and the WI Book of Monumental Inscriptions completed in the 1980’s and are collating that information into our database.
One of our members has also researched the 1st and 2nd World War records of the men whose names are transcribed on the Fetcham War Memorial, and another
of our members is co-ordinating a project to digitally capture and index a set of solicitors documents known as the “Fortescue Papers” for LDLHS
Occasional visits
