Meets on 1st Tuesday monthly in members’ homes at 10:00, with the venue usually arranged at the previous meeting.

Our activities are primarily historic research and collating of data on Fetcham from a wide variety of sources reflecting members’ particular interests.

Current Projects:
The building of composite records for the inhabitants of Fetcham showing as much of their life history as we can. The Fetcham Census records from 1841 to 1901 have been input onto a database along with details obtained from the original Fetcham Parish Records post 1813 (showing baptisms, banns, marriages and burials) which were returned to St. Mary’s Church from the Surrey History Centre and digitally photographed by us. We are currently working on a project at St. Mary’s churchyard, photographing the gravestones and later linking them to the WI Book of Monumental Inscriptions completed in the 1980’s and held within the Church.

We have also researched the 1st World War records of the men whose names are transcribed on the Fetcham War Memorial and recently one of our members has produced a booklet on the findings. We hope to progress onto the 2nd World War research in due course.

Visits to research centres and places of interest are arranged as directed by the members.
