Object:- To widen members knowledge about the history and architectural heritage of the Greater London area.
Size of Group:- 12 members
Venue and frequency of meetings:- 1st Monday of each month. Meeting at Cobham & Stoke D’Abernon Station to
catch the 09.55 am train to Waterloo. On occasion we meet at a member’s house and travel by car.
Visits:- We endeavour to visit a museum and a church during each walk.
Affiliations:- Explore London Walking Group 2, 3 and 4.
Information:- We started the group in 2003 and by September 2007 we have visited many areas of the Capital
City at least once. However, there are still huge areas which are “undiscovered”. We have a rule that each
person or couple must take a turn in researching and leading a walk each year. We have bought a number of
reference books to help us with the walks. The cost of each walk is borne by the member and includes the
fares/petrol, refreshments at lunch time and any admission fees. The research costs are not re-imbursed.
We usually have an94 away day94 in August and a Christmas walk and lunch in December.
