Meets 2nd and 4th Friday monthly from 10:00 to 13:00. Venue – usually a
member’s home and varies, depending on what we are doing.
The Needlework Group is as old as the Fetcham and District U3A and over the last five years has created a wide variety
of hand crafted items, all with the use of needles! Hand sewing, machine sewing, beading, etc.
We are a group of ladies with some great talents that we willingly share with each other. Even though the group has
been running for five years we have yet to run out of new ideas.
This year we have made lampshades, a card and picture using silk ribbon to produce some amazing silk flowers. We also
visited Sandown Craft Fair and a great day was had by all. We returned home tired and penniless! Our next project is a hexagonal needlework box.
In the past we have also tackled quilting, crochet scarves and beaded necklaces.
Our group is full but I am sure that if a new group was started then we would lend a hand to get you going if you wished!
