This Group normally meets on the first Sunday of the month.

The meeting places are pubs or restaurants, usually within twenty minutes drive from Fetcham. The venues are checked out beforehand by one or other of the organisers and they are looking at the quality of the meals, the service, the surroundings and, of course, the cost. Usually a two-course meal with coffee comes out to less than fifteen pounds. Each “luncher” is asked to pay only for what he or she has chosen, plus a gratuity of ten per cent and an on-cost of 25p towards secretarial costs of the organisers.

Breaking down the bill total between the members of the party is quite a task and, to make this easier, lunchers are asked to order and pay for their own drinks (other than tea or coffee) separately at the bar.

Many places are unwilling to accept bookings on Sundays so we usually meet between noon and twelve fifteen so that we can find tables where we can sit together. Some members of the groups like to explore the area after lunch if there is anything of interest to discover.

Since the first group was formed we have been to over twenty-five different venues and there are still more to be explored!
